There are sixteen primary Interstate highways and sixteen auxiliary Interstate highways in Illinois.

Interstate 24 (I-24) - Runs from the Missouri state line on the Mississippi River to the Kentucky state line at the Ohio River nearby Metropolis.

Interstate 39 (I-39) - Runs from I-55 in Normal to the Wisconsin state line in South Beloit, IL.

Interstate 41 (I-41) - Runs from the Wisconsin state line nearby Clinton, WI to I-39/90 in South Beloit.

Interstate 43 (I-43) - Runs from the Wisconsin state line at Pikeville, WI to I-55 at Braidwood, and runs west of I-690.

Interstate 55 (I-55) - Runs from the Missouri state line at the Mississippi River in East St. Louis to US 41 (Lake Shore Drive) in Chicago.

Interstate 57 (I-57) - Runs from the Missouri state line at the Mississippi River near Cairo to I-94 in Chicago.

Interstate 64 (I-64) - Runs from the Missouri state line at the Mississippi River in East St. Louis to the Indiana state line in Grayville, IL.

Interstate 70 (I-70) - Runs from the Missouri state line at the Mississippi River in East St. Louis to the Indiana state line.

Interstate 72 (I-72) - Runs from the Missouri state line at the Mississippi River to I-57 in Champaign.

Interstate 74 (I-74) - Runs from the Iowa state line at the Mississippi River in Moline to the Indiana state line in Danville, IL.

Interstate 76 (I-76) - Runs from the Indiana state line near Kentland, IN to I-74 in Peoria.

Interstate 80 (I-80) - Runs from the Iowa state line at the Mississippi River to the Indiana state line in Lansing, IL.

Interstate 86 (I-86) - Runs from the Iowa state line at the Mississippi River at East Dubuque to I-39 and US 20 in Rockford.

Interstate 88 (I-88) - Runs from I-290 in Hillside to the Iowa state line on the Mississippi River just north of Port Byron, IL.

Interstate 90 (I-90) - Runs from the Wisconsin state line in South Beloit, IL to the Indiana state line in Chicago, IL.

Interstate 94 (I-94) - Runs from the Wisconsin state line near Russell, IL to the Indiana state line in Lansing, IL.

Interstate 155 (I-155) - Runs from I-55 near Lincoln to I-74 in Morton.

Interstate 172 (I-172) - Runs from I-72 in Fall Creek to US 24 and Illinois Route 336 in Fowler.

Interstate 180 (I-180) - Runs from I-80 in Princeton to Illinois State Routes 26/71 in Hennepin.

Interstate 190 (I-190) - Runs from I-90 in Chicago to O'Hare International Airport.

Interstate 270 (I-270) - A full beltway around the St. Louis metropolitan area with most of its mileage in Missouri.

Interstate 280 (I-280) - Runs from the Iowa state line at the Mississippi River to I-74/80 in Colona.

Interstate 290 (I-290) - Runs from I-90 in Schaumburg to I-90/94 in Chicago.

Interstate 294 (I-294) - Runs from I-80/94 in South Holland to I-94 in Northbrook.

Interstate 355 (I-355) - Runs from I-80 in New Lenox to I-290 in Itasca.

Interstate 370 (I-370) - Runs from I-270 in Pontoon Beach to US 67 in Godfrey.

Interstate 394 (I-394) - Runs from I-80/94/294 in South Holland to Steger Road in Chicago Heights.

Interstate 470 (I-470) - Runs from I-270 in Pontoon Beach to I-55/70 in Troy.

Interstate 474 (I-474) - Runs from I-74 in Peoria to I-74 in East Peoria.

Interstate 490 (I-490) - Runs from I-294 in Franklin Park to I-90 in Des Plaines, and bypasses Chicago-O'Hare International Airport on the west side of the airport.

Interstate 494 (I-494) - Runs from the I-90/94 junction in Irving Park, Chicago to I-94 in Greater Grand Crossing, Chicago.

Interstate 690 (I-690) - An outer belt of the Chicago metropolitan area that runs from I-94 in Bannockburn to the Indiana state line, eventually running to I-65 in Crown Point. Upon meeting its parent I-90 in Hoffman Estates, I-690 follows Illinois Route 59 until I-55 in Shorewood and then runs eastward to Indiana.
