Welcome to the official blog of the 55-State Union Series - an alternate geographical history of the United States of America where-in there are three completely new U.S states - Altamasstachia (pronounced as All-tuh-mahs-sta-she-ah), Mallettbarr and Zeconnemeleth (pronounced as Zeh-con-nah-mah-leth), plus Puerto Rico is its own U.S. state as is Michigan's Upper Peninsula, known here as Superior. In addition, West Virginia is known in this timeline as Kanawha.

While this timeline will cover the rest of the United States, as well as the political, economical and social landscape of the world at large, this blog will primarily focus on Altamasstachia, Mallettbarr, and Zeconnemeleth and their respective histories, demographics, cultures and the ramifications that their individual existences have on the United States as there are many butterfly effects that stem from this very concept.
