Governors of Altamasstachia

The governor of Altamasstachia is the head of government of the U.S. state of Altamasstachia, the head of the executive branch of Altamasstachia's state government and the commander-in-chief of the Altamasstachia National Guard and the Altamasstachia State Guard. The governor of Altamasstachia has a duty to enforce state laws and the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Altamasstachia State Legislature, to convene the Legislature and grant pardons, except in case of impeachment or treason. Governors of Altamasstachia serve a maximum of two terms, which are four years each. Altamasstachia has had nine territorial governors and twenty-three state governors in its history since being part of the United States. Those who have served as Altamasstachia state governor include two female governors (Kathryn Watanabe & Angela Harrison), two Asian governors (Eiji Yanagisawa & Kathryn Watanabe), two African-American governors (Benjamin LeGrand & Marcus Stoutmire), and two Hispanic governors (Ignacio Aguirre & Eric Hernandez). Ten of the state's 550 counties are named for former state governors (Abernathy, Andrews, Howard, Lassiter, Matts, Morton, Pirtle, Shearer, Tipton, Vogelsong). The current governor of Altamasstachia is Eric Hernandez (Democrat), who was inaugurated on January 4, 2021.
