The Altamasstachia Bowling Federation (ABF) is an American professional ten-pin bowling league in the U.S. state of Altamasstachia. The league is composed of 20 teams, is the top level of the Altamasstachia State Bowling Association (ASBA) which governs and sanctions the league in coordination with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) (player's union), is the highest level of men's ten-pin bowling in the United States (the United Bowling League (UBL), which has teams in the continental United States and Canada, is the second-highest level), and is one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States. It is the premier men's professional bowling league in the world, and the world's most watched bowling league which is broadcast globally in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand. The Wittimer Cup, one of the oldest professional sports trophies in North America, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. The ABF's regular season runs from late August to early May, with each team playing 90 series (three games a series). The league's playoff tournament extends into June, culminating with the Wittimer Cup Finals. The most-watched sporting league by far in Altamasstachia, an average league match-up is watched by an estimated 61% of Altamasstachian television and radio audiences, and the average Wittimer Cup Finals draws about 84% of the state's population via television, radio, social media and related state-wide festivities. An average television broadcast of the Wittimer Cup Finals brings in an additional 64.8 million viewers from the rest of the United States and 91.2 million globally, making the average total viewership of a Wittimer Cup Finals on any media platform about 182 million viewers.
The ABF was organized on February 1, 1895 in Esteban, Altamasstachia when the Olympia Professional Men's Bowling Association and the Esteban Royal Men's Bowlers Club merged together. George Augustus Wittimer was the league's first president and commissioned a namesake trophy to be awarded to the champion at the end of each season. The ABF immediately became the top-flight organization for ten-pin bowling in Altamasstachia, and became the only league left competing for the Wittimer Cup in 1905. At its inception, the ABF consisted of teams in the Greater Olympia Area, and Heston was the first market outside of Olympia and Esteban to compete in a Wittimer Cup Final, first doing so in 1899. The league, quickly rising in popularity, would expand in the early 20th century to westward markets such as Creighton, St. Ann and St. Kenneth, and northerly markets such as Balbert, Foxbridge, the Hamperhills and New Scotland. After expanding to the San Gerardo Bravo Area with four teams there by the mid-1950s, Colbert Coast, Niyonsenga and the Heston suburb of Richfield received expansion teams by the end of the 1960s and Luthra City became the most recent team to join the league in 1971. Since the passage of the Professional Sporting Clubs Act in 1958, all Altamasstachia Bowling Federation clubs are community-owned as the state law prohibits any private ownership stake in any major sports team or organization located in Altamasstachia. The league's headquarters have been in the state capital of Heston since 1915, when the head office moved from Esteban to be more centrally located in the state. The United States Bowling Congress considers the Wittimer Cup to be "the single-most important championship" in the sport of bowling. The ABF draws many elite, highly-skilled players from the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, although Altamasstachia-native Americans have historically constituted the majority of the players in the league. The Olympia Generals have the most Wittimer Cup championships at 31, and the New Scotland Impact are the defending league champions, having defeated the Ponce de Gabriel Conquistadors in five games to win the 2021 Wittimer Cup Finals, their fifth championship.

List of Altamasstachia Bowling Federation Affiliate Teams
Affiliate teams of ABF clubs play in either the Northern Altamasstachia Pro Association (NAPA) or the Southern Altamasstachia Flying Aces League (SAFAL). These two minor league pro-bowling associations are the second-highest level of men's ten-pin bowling in the U.S. state of Altamasstachia, and have their own playoff and championship tourneys (although there have been efforts to organize a championship tourney that would be contested between the champions of both the NAPA and the SAFAL). Eight teams comprise the NAPA, while 32 teams comprise the SAFAL. Of note is the St. Ignatius Regents, who were founded in 1902 and competed for the Wittimer Cup twice (losing in 1907 and winning in 1914), and left the Altamasstachia Bowling Federation in 1947. After operating as an independent league bowling club for 25 years, they joined the Southern Altamasstachia Flying Aces League in 1972 and are currently an affiliate of the Olympia Generals.
