Regions of Mallettbarr

There are seven distinct geographical regions in the U.S. state of Mallettbarr. Unlike other states, Mallettbarr's regions do not necessarily have their own culture. [a] [b]

Blandsands - Think some parts of the Australian Outback and you'll get a tame version of that here. This region is quite a bland version of that part of the Land Down Under - true to the name "Blandsands."

Eastern Prairies - Unassuming fields of prairie grass, farmland and small towns and villages as can be seen in states like the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri.

Finanthia - Woodlands, farms and ranches adorn this part of the state. Think Kentucky and much of the Pacific Northwest.

Outwater - This is as close to "tropical" as you're ever going to get here in Mallettbarr - Outwater is so named for its location out at sea. Ferry to and from Nantwich Island takes about 45 minutes.

Quentins Coast - Admittedly, Mallettbarr's coastal towns are nice places to live. It helps to know that gambling was legalized in Mallettbarr in 2003, and this region is home to the few casinos and resorts that operate in this state, making the Quentins Coast a popular vacation destination for Mallettbarrites. Tourists from Altamasstachia to the north also visit, provided that most of them enter the state via the three and a half hour ferry from Creighton, Altamasstachia to Newmarket Fellows, Mallettbarr and that they remember to keep on the left side of the road here.

Southeastern Foothills - One thing Mallettbarr can boast of (not that people here are boastful, mind you) is its natural sights and wildlife. Great examples of this can be found in the Southeastern Foothills (including the Penelope Foothills) where breathtaking views and vistas and exotic wildlife can be encountered - including the Chapdelaine Peacock, a species of peacocks native to southeastern Mallettbarr that are a cross of a cardinal and a peacock (a crimson reddish peacock with the head of a cardinal bird). The Chapdelaine peacock and the mallard are Mallettbarr's state birds and are on the state's seal (as well as an antelope).

Whittaker Plateau - Hilly and somewhat mountainous, and a variety of woodlands and farmlands to boot. This area is sometimes known as the Melvinsboro area as Melvinsboro is the state capital and is in Whittaker County.

[a] - This is deeply rooted in a phenomenon seen in many Mallettbarrites known as "Mallettbarr Plainess", a stereotype which posits that Mallettbarr natives and residents are extremely provincial, are extremely disinclined to stand out from others, have an extreme aversion to even talk to another person or hold a conversation, and are fiercely protective of their way of life and property - in other words, the Seattle Freeze and the Law of Jante on steroids.

[b] - Mallettbarrites are generally seen as extremely conservative, right-wing fanatical hillbillies who are interested in all things pure, unadulterated country (including country music), agriculture, hunting, fishing, and high school/college football. Like most of Texas, but at least friendliness, politeness and great interest in professional sports aren't foreign concepts to Texans last time I checked.
